ATM mobile top-up

The VocaLink ATM top-up service allows prepaid mobile phone users to top up air-time credits at your ATM. It provides an additional source of income and, over the long term, it increases the value of your ATM estate.

ATMs with mobile phone top-up facilities attract regular users. The service gives you access to all the major international mobile network operators (MNOs) and the biggest mobile virtual network operators in the UK. Customers simply select a mobile network, and then type in the mobile phone number and the amount. VocaLink transfers the payment instruction to the mobile operator in real time so air time can be credited to the customer in seconds. Customers can also credit other people’s phones so, while they are at the ATM, they can top up for friends and family too. The ATM top-up service maximises the value of each customer interaction.

Prepaid mobile remains a popular choice and ATM top-up is the lowest cost way for mobile operators to enable their customers to buy air-time. It is a way for banks to service their customers via the mobile channel and provide services and gain revenue from other banks’ customers at their ATMs.
