VocaLink was created on 2 July 2007 from the combination of the two market leaders in electronic payments and transactions (Voca and LINK Interchange Network). These two companies had already been working in partnership since 2005 to develop the UK’s Faster Payments service, which went live on 27 May 2008.

We adopt an open approach to innovation. Some of our new transaction services are launched in partnership with other specialist providers. These include:

OneVu – in partnership with CheckFree Corps, offers electronic bill presentment and payment services to deliver electronic bills through online banks
MONILINK™ – in partnership with Monitise, this is a mobile banking application for mobile phones and PDAs
Immediate Payments – delivering real-time payment services
Prepaid Cards – in partnership with PrePay Technologies Ltd, we provide banks with access to prepaid, reloadable cards that are Maestro™ branded.
